I'm a freshmen in College, and after I graduated highschool I was really excited to go to college. However, after I went to my second half of orientation I felt like that there was something was up, and it made me want to wait a year before I went to college instead this year. Now, I am starting to wish that I stuck with that decision instead.

If I could go back to being 18, I would go to trade school, any trade since they are all great jobs to have. If I was age 18 again and still going to do college. I would spend 2 years at a community college (atleast its cheaper than a 4 year University). I would take only maketable classes. The first semester take all finance classes, the 2nd semester, take all programming classes. This way, even if you leave community college before you get a 2 year degree, atleast you have some background in something marketable.

College makes sense, if 1. The economy is strong, 2. College in affordable. and 3. There is enough job growth. in 2020, none of those 3 items apply. People who believe heart and soul that college is the way to go, they will tell you, that going to college will teach you how to think. Looking back, its very demoralizing to tell people, that going to college is the only way to be successful. How little faith in the next generation do you have to have, to tell them they are so stupid that they are unable to figure things out on their own?

I appreciate the deep content - open-mindedness is so important right now! I define open-mindedness pretty thoroughly in the last video on my channel as well, from a parenting lens. I hope videos like ours inspire people to really think openly.

“Debt is never gonna make you successful.” That runs contrary to common understandings of how the economy works. Much of growth in wealth, (both business and personal) comes from taking on debt through loans that are used for investment. Sure, you need to keep your debt at a reasonable level and invest wisely, but it’s objectively wrong to think that debt will keep you from success. On the contrary, it’s often what can help _make_ _you_ _successful._

I pursue a smart major in college in a value school. For example, I would like to go to USC/UCI bc of their financial aid and the money that actually goes back into the students (mainly USC). I’m choosing this path under an engineering/computer science/finance major. This IS to earn money, but I plan to retire as soon as possible. Why? Because I want to play investing/education/networking game in order to make as much as I can. Once I retire, one way or another, either through entrepreneurship or investing with my major, I will look for hobbies/places/experiences that make me happy. Not what job will make me happy. I find a passion to make money to be free and not limited to pursue my happiness! 😁 ☀️

    1. look life as gift. 2. See things on different point of view. 3. Don't see loneliness as bad things. 4. Step outside of your comfort zone. 5. Don't judge. 6.think world as three dimensional and not as oner dimensional. 7.take a moment each day to write down your thoughts. 8. don't let the haters get you down. 9. love others as God love you no matter who or what they are. 10. ask for guidance and also your friends to inspire you.

But If you are self educated before you go to college this is a much different discussion. I myself am a senior in highschool and I totally believe you that self education is by far one of the most important aspects of people. The part that throws me off is that your blaming college for not preparing you for these things when it stems far beyond that. It involves a whole slew of problems that I believe starts in parenting but furthermore involves the education system in itself. If schools offered classes that involved a lot more about finances you’d be surprised by how many parents would highly recommend that. That is all, I hope this message reaches somebody that understands my point of view. Thank you if you read this!

I could not have said it better. Literally could not have explained why sheeple go to colleges, learn a bunch of crap, forget said crap a few months after graduating and get all upset about not having a 100k job rdy for them right after they graduate. A degree? A piece of paper has no correlation to intelligence nor wisdom. That piece of paper stating your a expert in whatever doesn't mean sh*t. Whatever you know (WHATEVER!!) I can google in 2 seconds. How about study on your own and discover, innovate, invent tomorrow. Non of that will happen pissing your time away everyday after day at class where everyone unscrews their hollow skulls and professor gets up on everyone's table and spray sh*ts everyone right in their open head and calls it "I'm going to be the next Tesla, Tony Stark Ect." You are 100% right and sorry if I got a little graphic.

I work at USPS making 60k to 90k depending on OT.... I work with peers with70k or more in student loans. It might not be the most glamorous job, but with no debt it buys me all I want and leaves me with plenty of cash to invest and grow my net worth.

You need skills of some kind to offer an employer or you are screwed. Young people get out can’t get a job and are told you are lazy. They got scammed. Those professors only care about a paycheck. They know you are getting scammed. Owe a huge amount of money. Trades are wide open technical and vocational education pay well.
